His face, nervous and trying not to be discouraged, playing even though Mercedes is walking away, hoping she’ll turn around once she hears the opening notes and sing with him.

I’m so glad someone gif’d this. I am obsessed with this moment. You can see the desperation on his face, like he KNOWS this is the only way he’ll be able to get through to her. And her face when she turned around, she was sad because he’s reached the point where he’s willing to give up (which is why she originally turned down the duet, we are on to you Miss Mercedes Jones).

They are both utterly miserable inthis moment. Mercedes, it’s time to put you all out of your misery and leave Shane. You aren’t that happy with him, and honestly, he’s probably not that happy with you right now. Given the way he was looking at you clean that slushy off of Sam in the last episode, he knows which way the wind is blowing. There is no sense in all 3 of you being miserable. Let Shane go and find his happiness, you know yours is staring you in your face and putting your name in lights.
